"Believe
in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved"
Now there was a man of the Pharisees
named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus
at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from
God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God
were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth,
no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."
"How can a man be born when he
is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time
into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you
the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water
and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to
spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, must be born again.' The
wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell
where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of
the Spirit."
"How can this be?" Nicodemus
asked. "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you
not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know,
and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept
our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe;
how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever
gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the
Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have
eternal life,
For God so
loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes
in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already
because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This
is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead
of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the
light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be
exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it
may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
John 3:1-21
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal
life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains
on him.
John 3:36
Man is destined to die once, and after
that to face the judgement - What good is it for a man to gain the whole
world and yet forfeit his own soul.
Hebrews 9:27 - Mark 8:36
All have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God -All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our
righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and
like the wind our sins sweep us away.
Romans 3:23 - Isaiah 64:6
Seek the
Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked
forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord,
and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon
- Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull
to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins
have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.
Isaiah 55:6-7 - Isaiah 59:1-2
The
Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He
is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish
but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
God demonstrates His own love for us
in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God made Him who
had no sin to be sin for us.
He Himself bore our sins in His body
on the tree.
Romans 5:8 - 2 Corinthians 5:21 -
1 Peter 2:24
"God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life."
John 3:16
"For my Father's will is that everyone
who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I
will raise him up at the last day." -
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under
heaven
given to men by which we must be
saved."
John 6:40 - Acts 4:12
Everyone who believes in Him receives
forgiveness of sins through His Name. I even I, am He who blots out your
transgressions for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
Acts 10:43 - Isaiah 43:25
For by grace you have been saved, through
faith and this not from yourselves. It is a gift from God, not by works,
so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
