Christian Death and Resurrection!

Where O Death is Your Victory?

Where O Death is Your Sting?

Thanks be to God He

Gives Us The Victory

Through our Lord Jesus Christ

In the life of the believer there are two great victories after eternal salvation. They are death and resurrection. Both are His victories and will occur to each of us in God’s own timing and plan.

The resurrection generation is the one exception to those who will experience death. They will not die, but will be raptured, resurrected, snatched away by the Lord, in a moment, in the “twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet”

This generation will not experience death, but will be resurrected with all church age believers, from long ages past and will join their loved ones who have believed in the Lord Jesus and have departed through death to be face to face with their Lord in Heaven.

They will all meet the Lord and their loved ones in the air and be with Him and with them forever. Never to die again and will never stand before God at the Great White Throne Judgement of Revelation 20:11-16

Both death and resurrection are immanent for us all and could happen at any time. Our attitude should be one of faith, trust, perseverance and peace. As we wait for the Lord to unfold the details of our life and His plan, while remembering His certain promises to us.

“No temptation (testing) has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tested beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted (tested), He will provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

Jesus Death Prophesied and Predicted

“Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by God and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds, we are healed. We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth.,” Isaiah 53:4-7

Jesus Resurrection Prophesied and Predicted

“I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the grave (Sheol) not will you let your Holy One see decay.” Psalm 16:8-10

Jesus said, “I tell you the Truth, no one can see the kingdom of God, unless he (they) is born again…. No one can enter the kingdom of God unless he (they) is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but Spirit gives birth to spirit” John 3:3-6

“If a man dies, will He live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come. You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made. Surely you will then count my steps, but not keep track of my sin. My offences will be sealed in a bag. You will cover over my sin.” Job 14:14-17

For a momentary light affliction produces in us an eternal weight of Glory far beyond comparison, so we don’t focus on what is seen but unseen, for what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Since then you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in Glory. Colossians 3:1-4

Dear friends (dearly beloved) now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” 1 John 3:2

The Circumstance and the Event of the Immanent Resurrection

“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like men who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. According to the Lords own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the Archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord FOREVER. Therefore encourage each other with these words.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

God’s Results, Changes and Victory of the Resurrection

I declare to you brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has clothed itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written shall come true: Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where O death is your victory, where O death is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory though our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:50-57
