The Riches in Christ
According to the scriptures below, we have been made rich
in every way.
Romans
8:32
“He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all- How will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things.”
Ephesians 2:6-7
“God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms
in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable
riches of His grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians
3:7-8
Although I am less than the least of God’s people, this grace was given
to me to preach to the gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.”
Colossians
2:2
“My purpose is that they be encouraged in heart and knit together (united)
in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding,
in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are
hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Romans
11:29
“God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.”
The book “Divine Works of Grace” is taken from the teaching
of
Rev Henry W. Hastings
Below are listed the Works of God accomplished on our behalf,
as found in the scriptures. All these verses are said to be in the passive
voice, the voice of grace, in which the subject receives the action of the
verb, and is acted upon. All these actions occur at the moment of faith
in Jesus Christ and are His completed work, on our behalf.
Stand back, God at work. This means!!
1.
His Gifts for us are Irrevocable
2.
The barrier is Split and GONE.
3. God is free to bless through
Jesus Christ alone.
4. We are secure forever.

Ephesians 1:3
We
Have Been Made Rich in Christ
Since we have been made so rich in Christ, what more is done
for us.
Nothing needs to be done by us.
It has all been done already for us!
The lyrics of this song have been taken from “The Believers
Hymn Book”
Christ has done the might work
Nothing left for us to do
But to enter on His work
Enter on His triumph too.
His the pardon, ours the sin
Great the sin, the pardon great;
His the good, and ours the ill;
His the love, and ours the hate.
His the labour, ours the rest;
His the death, and ours the life;
Ours the fruits of victory,
His the agony and the strife.
He has sowed the precious seed,
Nothing left for us unsown;
Ours is to reap the field,
Make the harvest joys our own.
Live a Life (Walk) Worthy of the Calling You
Have Received
Since we have been made so super rich, and so much has been
done for us, what does God expect from us as a result of His rich work for
us and His investment in us. We have been given
all that we need to achieve all He desires from us.
2 Peter
1:3-4
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness
through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that
through them we may participate in the divine Nature and escape the corruption
in the world caused by evil desires.”
Ephesians
4:1-3
“As a prisoner of the Lord, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling
you have received. Be completely
humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every
effort to keep the unity of the Spirit, through the bond of peace.”
1 Corinthians
6:20
“You were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your body.”
What are we bought from?
We have been bought back to God from a condemned condition.
God paid the price through the spiritual death of His Son
for us, which is represented by the term “The blood of Christ.
Hebrews
9:14
“How much will the blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit offered
Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead
to death, so that we may serve the living God.”
Ephesians
5:1-2
“Be imitators of God, therefore as dearly loved children and live a life
of Love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, as a fragrant
offering and sacrifice to God.”
Ephesians
2:10
“We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which
God prepared in advance for us to do.”
God’s objective for us is to be like His Son Jesus Christ
and to serve God and to produce His Work and to be restored in our relationship
and service to Him, just as Adam’s service was to God (Jesus Christ) before
his fall.
God has a specific plan for each of us. He has tailor made
the blessing and suffering to suit us and to cause us to grow spiritually
and so to enable us to rule and reign with Jesus Christ throughout all eternity.
He has a position of leadership, Privilege and authority within
His Church for each of us for all eternity, with an eternal inheritance
beyond anything we could dream about or imagine.
Don’t be anxious about the suffering, just like you won’t
need to worry about the blessing. God says,
1 Corinthians
10:13
No temptation (testing) has seized you except what is common to man and
God is faithful: He will not let you be tempted (tested) beyond what you
can bear. But when you are tempted (tested), He will provide a way out so
that you can stand up under it”
Psalm 145:13
“The Lords is faithful to all His promises and loving (merciful) to all
He has made.”
Revelation
22:12
Jesus say’s “I Am coming soon and my reward is with Me.”
His objective is to take us from a Spiritual baby, carry us
through spiritual childhood, on into spiritual adolescence and then on into
spiritual maturity, and then beyond into the status of “Friend of God”,
just like Abraham and Moses.
Impossible you may say, and rightly so, if you’re depending
on human strength, reasoning, culture and timing.
Consider God’s words to Mary the mother of Jesus.
Luke 1:37
“Nothing is impossible with God.”
In the scripture God has made over 8,000 promises in the bible
to us humans, at particular times. He is faithful to all regarding His promises.
He can be no other. We will consider some of His promises
later. It is absurd to imagine God would be faithless to anyone.
Consider Abraham in
Genesis 12-25 and
Both had a child in
their old ages.
Consider Zechariah’s vision recorded in Zechariah 4:1-6 regarding
the olive trees feeding the oil lamps and the abundant light, power and
grace provided for us, His Church.
Zechariah
4:1-6
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, say’s the Lord Almighty.”
Hebrews
11:6
“Without faith it is impossible to please God.”
Hebrews
11:39
“These (old testament believers) were commended
(Gained a good report) for their faith.”
1Corinthians
3:6-9
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither
he who plants, nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things
grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each
will be rewarded according to his own labour. For we are
God’s fellow workers.”
Therefore grow in the Faith and learn about God’s construction
techniques, as He has provided all the resources needed. Take time to learn
about God’s way in His Word.
Jesus Christ grew as a man in His faith and trusted implicitly
in His Father, His plan, purpose and provision for Him, in every situation.
He did everything that the Father commanded Him, it was His
delight to do so, even though He knew what was ahead at the cross, and all
which that entailed.
2 Peter
3:18
“Grow in Grace and knowledge of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.”
