Who is Satan?
Darkness is Satan’s way, which came as a consequence of arrogance,
pride and egotism, which produced rebellion, and a life of independence
from God. Satan is also known as the Devil. The Dark way represents Satan’s
way and is the way of Divine judgement.
Satan, who is he? He wasn’t originally known as Satan. He
became Satan.
How incredibly beautiful is the Universe in darkness, because
of light reflection. How beautiful it must have looked without darkness
and with a transparent reflection of light. It must have been quite incredible.
Light is beautiful.
Let’s take a look at creation and angelic history, as laid out
in the bible.
Angels are known in the scriptures and referred to as “The Sons
of God” and “Morning Stars” in Genesis 6 and Job 1.
We are known as “The Sons of men” in Ezekiel 36:17
Lets read from
Job 38:7 where the Lord says.
“Where were you when I laid the Earth's foundation? Tell Me if you
Understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched
a measuring line across it? On what were it’s footings
set, or who laid its cornerstone – while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy”
The morning stars were a position of leadership and authority in
the angelic order. This passage tells us that the angels saw the creative
act of the earth, and possibly the universe. They watched God at work. No
wonder they were singing and engaged in praise of God. Who wouldn’t?
Maybe after the creation of the universe it was the angel’s privilege
to name the stars and galaxies in the universes, just as Adam had the privilege
of naming all the animals. Maybe their abode was on a star or in a particular
galaxy, which was known as the
Much of angelic history has not been revealed to us, though what
has been revealed in the angelology within scripture is fascinating. Much
of the angelic history seems to mirror human history.
One thing we know is that all the angels were in a perfect state
and praised The Lord their God. Until sin and arrogance was found amongst
some of the angels. fomented by Satan, the Devil.
We read in Isaiah 14 12-17
“How you have fallen from Heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart, ”I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on
the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I
will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the
Most High. But you are brought down to the depths of the pit.”
Ezekiel 28:12-19
“You were the model of perfection, full of beauty. You were in
You settings and mountings were made of Gold; on the day you were created
they were prepared.
You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for
so I ordained you. You were on the Holy mount of God; you walked among
the fiery stones.
So I threw you to the earth; I
made a spectacle of you before kings. By your many sins and dishonest
trade, you have desecrated you sanctuaries. So I made fire come out of
you and it consumed you and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the
sight of all who were watching. All the nations who knew you are appalled
at you; and have come to a horrible end and will be no more”
All sin and rebellion has been and will be judged by God.
Satan will not spend eternity in the lake of fire alone. Satan and many
of the angels are destined for the lake of fire. God’s judgement will terminate
with human beings and the end of human history. The fallen angels are called
exactly that- fallen, a third of the angels are said to be fallen angels.
Revelation 12:4
Speaking of the dragon (Satan) “His tail swept a third of the stars
out of the sky and flung them to the earth”
God judged Satan and the fallen angels. They were condemned and
sentenced to an eternity in the “lake of fire”
Matthew 25:41
“Depart from me you who are cursed into the eternal fire prepared for
the Devil and His angels”
The bible says the lake of fire it is eternal and will never
go out.
It is likened to a place of weeping, wailing and the gnashing
of teeth.
The bible says “they will be salted with fire”

Revelation 20:10 says
The deceiver the Devil was thrown into the lake of burning sulphur,
where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented
day and night, for ever and ever”
They sided with the wrong side and will share Satan’s awful
eternity.
Whose side are you on; whose side do you want to be on?
In anticipation of this final judgement no wonder the fallen
angels fear and shudder!
James 2:19
“Even the Demons believe and shudder” because
the scripture says that “they will be salted with fire”, preserved in fire
forever, the fire never goes out”
The question is. If Satan and the fallen angels are judged,
condemned, why has the sentence not been carried out? Why are we humans
now on the scene. What’s God’s plan and purpose for us humans? Why are we
here? Who must I serve and obey? Who is our Lord
and Master?
The scriptures uses vocabulary like law, condemnation, judged,
judgement, righteous, justice, justification, atone, redeem, pardon, forgiveness,
intercede, mercy, compassion, declare, guilty and guiltless, word, honour,
integrity, the accuser and the advocate.
From the language of scripture, this entire world is a giant
courtroom scene, the angels are said to be unseen observers, instigators
and participating in meting out judgement on God’s instruction, and acting
solely on His behalf.
Arrogance never takes responsibility for it self, when accused
arrogance always goes onto the attack with accusations of injustice, unfairness.
The integrity of the one judging is defamed and maligned.
We are in the midst of the greatest trial in the universe.
The stakes are high. God’s, Righteousness, Justice,
Love and His integrity have been challenged, by a desperate and insolent
creature, now called Satan, in an attempt to overturn God’s righteous
judgement, by demonstrating that God is unrighteous, unjust and unloving
to send His creatures to an eternal doom, beyond words. Satan’s lie is
heard so much among humans.
Satan’s name was “Lucifer”, which is Latin. He was created
“Son of the morning, and in His arrogance His name became “Slanderer and
Accuser of the brothers”
